With any fabric UV protection is guaranteed by our awnings
with numerous fabrics, easy2shade offers the right awning fabric for every purpose and every requirement - in a wide variety of colors, made for wind and weather. Whichever fabric you choose: They are all of easy-care as well as durable quality, which not only offers your skin comprehensive UV protection, but also protects your eyes from blinding sun rays and your privacy from prying eyes with every sun sail.
Just as you can choose from easy2shade sun sails in different shapes and colors and with different fastenings, you can also choose from various materials for the fabric. The UV protection, which is so important nowadays, is guaranteed in every version of the sun sails, while the differences are mainly to be found in the structure of the respective fabric and - depending on it - in its wind and water permeability. Our awnings can be made of fabrics with the following characteristics and designations, which we will present to you in more detail further down the page:
- 100% polyester fabrics such as Maxim, Esta and Vista, which are water and dirt repellent throughout
- Olefin fabrics like Finoo, which are also completely oil and water repellent
- robust hard polyethylene (HDPE) fabrics such as Silvanet and Austronet 932 or 940, which on the other hand are characterized by good wind and water permeability
- as well as 100% opaque acrylic, which has proven to be largely water and dirt repellent.
Sun sails - no matter what fabric they are made of - must offer comprehensive UV protection
Sun sails, no matter what fabric they are made of, must not differ fundamentally in the UV protection they offer - the ultraviolet radiation of sunlight is too dangerous for that. If you look at the lists of properties of the various awning fabrics at the bottom of the page, you will always find references to this. For example, the polyester fabrics Esta and Maxim have UPF values of 50+, where the abbreviation stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor. The numerical value means that the fabric transmits less than one-fiftieth of UV radiation, which is the world's strictest Australian standard. Olefin even features an HDP value of 80+. In the case of HDPE knitted fabrics, on the other hand, UV protection is partly dependent on their color: Austronet 932 and 940 fabrics therefore have UPF values between 10 and 25, which guarantee sufficient protection in any case.
So it doesn't matter whether you attach your awning to your own pole or just between the roof and the parapet of your balcony: It will certainly keep the harmful part of the sun's rays away.
